There are two programms in the Netherlands who are searching for missing persons. One is called “Spoorloos” which is mostly for adopted persons and the other one is called “Vermist” and handles all cases for missing persons in general.
In the past I talked to the editors of “Spoorloos” and they informed me that they do not have a correspondent in Iran. I was just curious as I would never dare to apply my case to a TV show, a documentary on the other hand would be negotiable.. haha. To be honest, I did send two e-mails to Louis Theroux. He never got back to me though..
So yesterday I called with editor Loes of “Vermist” and asked her advice. She told me to start with an article in a local newspaper in the city I was found. So first things first, I will start doing that. I e-mailed a friend of friend of mine who’s living in Mashhad, this is the place where I was found.
Mashhad is an immense city in the north-east of Iran, near the border of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. It’s famous for the Imam Reza grave which became a holy place for pelgrims to visit. So yearly it welcomes many pelgrims from, not only Iran but from all countries in the Middle East. They all visit the Imam Reza Mausoleum and the Holy Shrine.
Have not heard anything back yet from my contactperson.. so patience will be my middle name!
