Pre-search in 2008

As I had filled out my form in 2008 for the ISS in Geneva who handles searches throughout the world. I finally found out that Iran does not accept ISS as a formal way of searching. So I had to do it on my own. At that point I decided to hire an attorney in Tehran who could search my case in the orphanage in Iran. The orphanage still excists! I was so excited about that. The attorney found a piece of paper which I didn’t have in my case at home. All written in Persian. My proof of history I have never experienced before… At that time I only knew my life from the day I was adopted. And all of a sudden I was blessed and gained 10 months of my own history. Wow what a feeling that was!!

The story goes that I was indeed found by the police at the Imam Reza Shrine in the summer of 1976. The police brought me to an orphanage in Mashhad. I had to stay there for 9 months, as that was the legal time for anybody to come to collect me. Nobody did. So they moved me to the international orphanage in Tehran. Two days later I met my new Dutch parents. As fast as that life can change. My parents saw me on 14th of April 1977 for the first time, it was their 5 years anniversary in marriage that day.

The pictures you see on this website as a header in my white clothes were one of my first meetings with them in the orphanage. The other one is with my Dutch brother who was born in Oktober 1977 and is my first Christmas with my new family in beautiful 70’s colours!
