Raised: 645 euro
Target: 10.000 euro
Days left: 36

Yesterday I received a question from my friend about how to donate. I couldn’t answer her the question and felt silly for a moment, but hey I am a believer in Finding Farideh..

Ofcourse I should donate, so I decided that I will donate a certain amount to the project each weeks it runs. I believe in the project Finding Farideh so hopefully you will follow me!

Today I visited the hairdresser, a new one for the first time. She’s Iranian and I love spending time and talking to Iranians. A lovely woman she is and I will come back because she did a good job! Grey hair are covered again and I feel much better without them!

Today I am learning the days of the week in Farsi, actually quite easy;
Jom’e is Friday
šanbe is Saturday
then they will count so
yekšanbe is Sunday
došanbe is Monday
sešanbe is Tuesday
chaharšanbe is Wednesday
panjšanbe is Thursday

Daghighe is minute
Saa at is hour
Ruz is day
Haftah is week
Maah is month
Saal is year
Check!

On my bike to work today..

    سلام فریده خانم
Spent some time this morning getting my head around your remarkable quest, reading the blog and watching the videos. Quite a twist on the usual story of parandehaye mohajer! (emigrated birds — a film you may have seen, it’s on Youtube with english subs now). Hope you get your own film done … I shall certainly look out for it.
Re learning farsi: suggest switching to the proper script as soon as you can! Romanized transcriptions put a barrier between you and the language. The basic stuff is really quite easy, but then it gets hard as persian has its own way of saying almost everything, and the syntax is different from english (and probably dutch).
If you want to learn persian quickly and easily, only one place to go: Persia!
And your name … make sure to say FariDEH, not FarEEdeh.
